Wer schreibt, der bleibt.
Liebe SIDizens,
diese Woche geht es um Veröffentlichungen, und zwar nicht ein paar Zeilen in Social Media, sondern Texte, die so viel zu sagen haben, dass sie einige Hundert Seiten füllen. Vorher aber erzähle ich euch eine kleine Geschichte darüber, was Baden-Baden mit dem UN-Generalsekretär verbindet.
Baden-Baden will nämlich keine Windräder bauen, sowas sollten doch besser andere machen, damit der Strom weiter aus der Steckdose kommt. Weil Baden-Baden zwar nicht überall, aber an vielen Orten ist, stellt die EU Umweltagentur EEA fest, dass die bisherigen Maßnahmen nicht ausreichen werden, das 1,5 Grad-Ziel zu erreichen. Und Antonio Gutierrez twittert vergangene Woche “we will be doomed”, so ganz ohne Halloween-Bezug. Der Mann meint das absolut ernst. Und so schließt sich der Kreis zwischen den Baden-Badener NIMBys und der großen weiten Welt.
Nun aber zu den Long Reads. Absolute Pflichtlektüre ist der World Energy Outlook der IEA. Kernaussagen: Das “Golden Zeitalter” von Gas ist vorbei, Peak CO2 steht vor der Tür, die Erneuerbaren skalieren. Aber wir müssen mehr tun: Statt im Jahr 2030 global 2.000 Milliarden Dollar in Erneuerbare zu stecken, sollten wir das Doppelte investieren. Hört sich viel an, ist aber nur 4% des Welt-BIP im vergangenen Jahr, das für die Rettung selbiger investiert werden muss. Schwierig, ja, aber auf jeden Fall machbar.
Ein weiteres “Must-Read” erscheint am 7. November: Das “Handbuch Elektrische Energieversorgung” beleuchtet aus technischer und wirtschaftlicher Sicht umfänglich die Energieversorgung. Die Herausgeber Monika Freunek und Oliver Doleski haben dazu 81 Experten eingeladen und motiviert, ihr Wissen aufzuschreiben. Und ein bisschen stolz sind wir auf jeden Fall: Metti, Toto, Torben und ich durften das Kapitel “Digitale Effizienz” beitragen. Damit wir alle auf demselben Stand sind: Bis zum S!D23 bestellen und durcharbeiten, dann ist Abfrage.

Mein absoluter Lieblingspodcast ist Freakonomics. Diese Folge beschäftigt sich mit hybridem Arbeiten. Nach Ansicht von Forschenden ist das die größte Veränderung des Arbeitsmarktes in den letzten 50 Jahren. Ermutigend ist, dass empirisch sowohl die Zufriedenheit der Mitarbeitenden als auch deren Produktivität steigt.
