Zahlen, Daten, Fakten
Liebe SIDizens,
die Welt datenbasiert zu beschreiben, um daraus Schlüsse zu ziehen, ist prinzipiell eine gute Sache. Zum Beispiel hat die private und im Selbstverständnis völlig unpolitische Forschungsgesellschaft für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen (FGSV) nachgemessen: Autos sind größer geworden, ergo sollten auch alle öffentlichen Parkplätze per Gesetz größer werden müssen, und zwar um 10%. Absolut schlüssig.
Zum Glück sind Daten inzwischen leicht verfügbar, so dass man auch die Gegenposition unterfüttern kann. Durch ein Daten-Crowdsourcing haben Aktivisten des Zentrums für Urbane Gerechtigkeit (ZUG), engagierte Radfahrer aus Luxemburg, herausgefunden, dass jeder vierte Zebrastreifen dort illegal ist, weil Abstände zum nächsten Parkplatz nicht eingehalten werden. Nun fordern Sie den Rückbau dieser Parkplätze und treiben die Verwaltung vor sich her.
Es sind nicht nur zwei unterhaltsame Possen. Der Kampf um eine Neuverteilung des urbanen Raums beginnt gerade erst und noch gilt fast überall "Autos zuerst". Doch Datenerhebungen zeigen, dass das nicht immer so bleiben muss. Der Hamburger Senat hat festgestellt, dass der überwiegende Teil des Verkehrs zu Fuß, mit dem Rad oder dem ÖPNV zurückgelegt wird. Nun hat sich das “Research Lab of Urban Transport” der FH Frankfurt zum Ziel gesetzt, eine einheitliche Datenbasis für den Radverkehr zu schaffen.
Der Umbau unserer Städte hat gerade erst begonnen.

Mike Cannon-Brookes sieht aus wie ein Game of Thrones Darsteller, er hat Atlassian gegründet (nutzt jemand Trello, Confluence oder Jira?) und ist damit Milliardär geworden.
